Prayers for the Dead
Eternal rest grant unto
them, O Lord; and let perpetual light shine upon them, may they rest in
peace. Amen. (An indulgence of 300 days, applicable only to the holy

Merciful Lord Jesus, grant
them everlasting rest. (An indulgence of 300 days, applicable only to

129th Psalm: A prayer of a
sinner, trusting in the mercies of God: The Sixth Penitential Psalm:
Out of the depths I have cried to Thee, O Lord: Lord hear my voice.
Let Thy ears be attentive to the voice of my supplication. If Thou, O
Lord, wilt mark iniquities: Lord, who shall stand it. For with Thee
there is merciful forgiveness: and by reason of Thy Law, I have waited
for Thee, O Lord. My soul hath relied on His word: my soul hath hoped
in the Lord. From the morning watch even until night, let Israel hope
in the Lord. Because with the Lord there is mercy: and with Him
plentiful redemption. And He shall redeem Israel from all his
iniquities. (The faithful who devoutly recite the 129th Psalm, De
Profundis or who say the Our Father, Hail Mary and the versicle Eternal
Rest, in supplication for the faithful departed, may gain: An
Indulgence of 3 years: an Indulgence of 5 years every day in November; a
Plenary Indulgence on the usual conditions, if this pious practice is
repeated daily for a month (Apostolic Brief, Aug. 11, 1736: S. P. Ap.,
May 29, 1933 and Nov. 20, 1940.) |
